GROWING WITH YOUR CHILD
EMMA TYER
I have over 20 years combined experience as a teacher of parents, other adults and children (0-10years). My experience spans across the educational systems teaching children in State, Steiner and Independent schools as well as those who are homeschooled.
I offer holistic education and training that supports the family in all its different forms.
Providing practical support and guidance for the parents and carers and teachers of the children of today, as well as the children themselves. (Please see the creative learning page for further details of my work with children).
MY IDEALS ARE:
Allow children time to enjoy, and to have, a childhood.
A slow childhood that allows for free creative play, gentle learning, time to grow and a respect and understanding for the natural world we live in.
Support parents on their individual journey, to
encourage parents to value themselves in order that society will come to value the importance of the role of parenthood, and help parents learn to listen to the needs of their children and their own intuitions.
Help to create a respect for the role of homemaker and for the needs of the modern parent to balance working and home life.
To honour and support the important role that the family should play in modern society.
WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT?
My philosophy is based on my own and my husband's journey as parents trying to create a holistic, sustainable, conscious family life.
My aim is to help parents to help themselves, to discover that they very often have the answers for their families and their own needs.
At the same time I will assist them to learn to support one another as a community and to appreciate the wisdom offered by those around our individual families: teachers, wider family, friends, fellow parents and the children themselves.
Through my parenting work I hope to nurture a greater understanding of the role of parenthood and what it means for us today: to encourage parents to support one another and to have the courage to trust their own intuitions.
